Caramel Pecan Dream Bars Recipe

Ingredients:
For the Crust:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup powdered sugar
For the Filling:
- ¾ cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- ¼ cup honey or maple syrup
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- 2 cups pecans, chopped
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions:
- Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Make the Crust:
- In a bowl, combine the melted butter, flour, and powdered sugar.
- Mix until a dough forms, then press evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and set aside.
- Prepare the Caramel Pecan Topping:
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add brown sugar, honey (or maple syrup), and heavy cream.
- Stir and bring to a gentle boil. Let simmer for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and mix in the chopped pecans, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Assemble & Bake:
- Pour the caramel pecan mixture over the pre-baked crust, spreading it evenly.
- Return to the oven and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until the caramel is bubbling and golden.
- Cool & Serve:
- Let the bars cool completely before cutting into squares or rectangles. This helps the caramel set properly.
- Enjoy! Serve as is, or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
