The Best No-Knead Sandwich Bread Recipe – Soft, Fluffy & Incredibly Easy!

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups (360g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp (6g) instant yeast
  • 1½ tsp (8g) salt
  • 2 tbsp (25g) sugar
  • 1 cup + 2 tbsp (270ml) warm water (~40°C)
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) neutral oil (vegetable or sunflower)

Preparation :

1. Mix the Dough

In a large bowl, combine:

  • Flour, yeast, salt, sugar
    Add warm water and oil. Mix with a spatula or spoon until no dry flour remains. The dough will be sticky – that’s perfect!

2. First Rise

  • Cover with a towel or plastic wrap.
  • Let it rise at room temperature for 1½ to 2 hours, or until doubled.

3. Shape & Pan

  • Grease a standard loaf pan (9×5 inch / 23×13 cm).
  • Scrape the dough into the pan, smoothing the top with wet fingers or a spatula.

4. Second Rise

  • Let rise again for about 30–45 minutes, until it reaches just above the rim of the pan.

5. Bake

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Bake for 30–35 minutes, until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.

6. Cool

  • Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
  • Then remove and cool completely on a rack.

🧈 Tips

  • Want extra softness? Add ¼ cup of milk in place of some of the water.
  • Store in a bag at room temp for up to 4 days or freeze for later.
